CM Naveen Patnaik announces grant of Rs Four lakhs to family of slain forester

The Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced a compassionate grant of Rupees Four lakhs to the family of slain forester Sangram Keshari Swain who was killed by Maoists while he was on duty. Chief Minister has condemned Sangram’s brutal killing and has also sent his condolence message to the family members of the deceased expressing his grief and compassion.

In addition to the above grant Chief Minister has also declared to provide a government job to one of his family members under Rehabilitation Assistance Scheme (RAS). Regarding other assistances , the Chief Minister has declared include a special family pension and Rs 50, 000 from group insurance. Special family pension would be calculated at the rate of his last month salary prior to his death and it would continue to be available to his family until his normal retirement age.

The Chief Minister has directed the Nuapada Collector to dispose of the compassionate grant amount to the deceased family immediately which will be reimbursed from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) .
