CM meets Union Minister Kamal Nath, urges to sanction more road projects to state

Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday meets Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Kamal Nath, in New Delhi. He urges Kamal Nath to sanction four-laning of the Bhubaneswar-Puri NH-203 as a special project so that work is completed ahead of the deadline.

Patnaik asked Nath to also sanction seven projects pending from 2009-10 and approve new ones for 2010-11 under Central Road Fund for Rs 65 crore and others under Inter-State Connectivity Scheme for Rs 100 crore.
In order to improve road communication in Maoist-hit areas, Patnaik asked Nath to sanction Rs 425 crore for the Vijaywada-Ranchi corridor in 2010-11. He demanded sanction of 19 road projects entailing a cost of Rs 762 crore in these districts.
