CM presents Green Crusader memento to Jindal Steel & Power

Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik presented the Green Crusader memento to Jindal Steel & Power Ltd Executive Director Rajesh Jha at a function held here on the World Environment Day.

It reaffirmed the efforts JSPL is putting up for environment concern and to counter future challenge that climate change may bring. Earlier, head of EMD, JSPL, CBS Sengar made an informative presentation elaborating the latest environment-friendly technologies JSPL is incorporating in its upcoming mega project at Angul. At the project site at Angul, JSPL organized weeklong events like a major plantation drive and painting, slogan, quiz and debate competitions with emphasis on various environment issues.

The Environment Day Grand Finale’ was held with a Greenathon and slogan-shouting rally in which Jindalites from all age groups participated. In the evening, a cultural event was organized by the environment management department.

Various pavilions were put up to showcase the works on various environmental issues. An environment awareness play was presented by the Jindal Mahila Samiti to spread the message, ‘Planet earth has enough for man’s need but not for his greed’.

JSPL executive president DK Saraogi urged the gathering to become more concerned towards the surroundings and preserve it in the best possible way. Cultural events were also organized to generate awareness about environment. Later, winners of the environment theme-related competitions were given away prizes and certificates.
