CM says 9.6 lakh livestock to be treated in free camps
Naveen Patnaik on Monday presided over a a high level review meeting on the health camps being organised for checking the health of livestock in the state, at the State Secretariat here.
In our agriculture based economy, livestock have great importance. Besides, helping the farmers in increasing their income it helps them in self employment. Therefore taking care of livestock is important for rural economy, Patnaik said after the meeting. In the health camps the health of cow, buffalo, goats and sheep’s being checked, the required treatment is provided.
While 409,389 livestock were provided free treatment in 5598 health camps, in 2010, 960,000 livestock will be provided free treatment in the health camps in the state in 2011, he said, adding that in 10 tribal dominated districts in 40 remote blocks mobile healthcare has been provided.
