CRPF DG meets Orissa CM Naveen Patnaik
CRPF Director General Bikram Srivastav on Friday called on the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Bhubaneswar. During the meeting, the CRPF DG slated to have urged the CM to provide places for the forces to set up their base camps from where they could launch an offensive against the Maoists.
It should be noted that after Dantewada massacre in which 76 jawans had been brutally killed, the CRPF authorities have tried their best to avoid any such occurrence in future. Srivastav also held talks with DGP Manmohan Praharaj, DG (Intelligence) Prakash Mishra and other senior officers engaged in anti-Maoist operations.
Orissa Chief Secretary T K Mishra said, we have asked collectors and SPs of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada and Gajapti districts to provide suitable space to the forces for setting up camps besides buses for transport.
