Naveen Patnaik declares assets worth Rs 7.98 crore
Berhampur, Orissa: BJD supremo and Orissa chief minister Naveen Patnaik owns assets worth about Rs 7.98 crore, including diamond button set, Rs57,076 in bank deposits and a 1980 model car.
Seeking re-election from his home turf Hinjili assembly constituency for the third time in a row, Patnaik had submitted these facts in the affidavit filed along with the nomination papers before the returning officer.
The youngest of the two sons of former chief minister Biju Patnaik, the writer-turned-politician had purchased no bond or share in any company in his name, while the car was in the name of his late father.
He possessed a gold chain, ring, pendant and a ruby and diamond button set valued at Rs 1.50 Lakh.
The other assets he had metioned in the affidavit included one-fourth share in the estate of Biju Patnaik situated at 3, Aurangazeb Road, New Delhi and valued about Rs 2.30 crore, bank balance and due from others at about Rs 8.70 Lakh.
Patnaik was expected to inherit a portion of his mother Gyan Patnaik's share in Biju Patnaik's estate. His mother die in February.
As per his mother's will, he might also get a share from her bank deposits which was about Rs three lakh
