Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik lays foundation of three lane high bridge on river Kathjodi at CDA Chhak, Cuttack on Saturday.This three lane high bridge will connect millenium city Cuttack with Bhubaneswar .
The bridge would cost Rs 112 crore and is expected to be completed in three years. The bridge with a length of 2.815 km would connect Cuttack from Belle View to Trishulia on the other side of the river.
It is coming up with Nabard financial assistance, and Hyderabad-based HES Corporation has won the bid in a global tender. The bridge would be a second one on the river to facilitate connectivity of the twin cities. While the earlier twin-bridge is part of the National Highway-5, the new one would shorten the distance from Cuttack to Bhubaneswar by nearly 10 km.
This project will be constructed by the assistance of NABARD. Higher Education Minister Debiprasad Mishra, School and Mass Education Minister Pratap Jena, MP Bhartru Mohatab, Banki legislature Prabhat Kumar Tripathy, Choudwar legislature Prabhat Ranjan Biswal, Cuttack Sadar legislature Kalindi Charan behera, Barabati legislature Debashis Samantaray and Mayer of Cuttack Municipal Corporation Soumendra Ghosh were present.
