Naveen Patnaik reviews security of jails in state
The Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has reviewed regarding security of the jails in the state on Wednesday in the Orissa secretariat. The Chief Minister has given strong instruction to frequent review and inspection of the jail security .
Besides the departmental officers, the Sub-Collectors will visit at least one in a month to the jails under his jurisdiction and verify the security position of the jails. Similarly the Chief Minister also expressed that special arrangements will be done for repair of the jails. The CCTV has been installed in 16 Jails out of total 86 jails in the state. Within one year CCTV will be installed in the rest of the jails within a year. The Mobile jammers has been installed in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar jails nd it has been decided to install jammer in Balasore, Baripada, Brahmapur, Sambalpur and Jharsuguda Jails.
The Chief Minister also instructed to enhance the food expenses for the prisoners from Rs 35/- to Rs 50/-. The Chief Minister also instructed the departmental officers to look after the health of the prisoners.
In this review meeting Chief secretary Tarunkanti Mishra, director General Of Police Manmohan Praharaj, Secretary of Home department Aditya Prasad Padhi , and the IG of Prisons were present.
