Orissa CM Naveen Patnaik reviews progress of Irrigation projects

The Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has reviewed the progress of the Water Resource Department in the Orissa Secretariat on Wednesday. It has been informed in the review meeting that 81330 Hect land would be irrigated by the end of this financial year. Out of the total 40 thousand Hectr will be irrigated by Principal and Middle Irrigation projects, 11,330 Hects of land through small irrigation projects and 30 thousand Hects of land through lift Irrigation projects. About 1434 lift irrigation points have been repaired. and 457 new lift irrigation points have been constructed . During the current year 35 % irrigation facility will be provided to more eight blocks. Four new projects Mohira, Remmal, Sunei and Indrabati has been controlled under the Command Area Development Project. During the year 2000 to 2009 total 3,71,920 Hects land has been irrigated . The Secretary of the Water Resources Department and other officials were present.
