Orissa CM Naveen Patnaik ruled out possibility of any peace talks with Maoists

The Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik again repeated on Tuesday that there should be no talks with Maoists until they give up the path of Violence and arms . Stating that the state government had not so far received any message either from the Maoists or the central government regarding the offer of the Maoists , Patnaik said he came to know about this from the media.

He also made it clear that the state government had not so far received any message either from the Maoists or the Central government regarding the ‘ceasefire’ offer. Naveen said that the state government was against any kind of talks with the red rebels because they did not create an atmosphere for a peaceful dialogue. The chief minister had also taken a tough stand on Maoists while attending two recent meetings with Union Home Minister P Chidambaram over the Maoists issue.
