Orissa Government receives Rs 46.9 crore from insurance firm as crop loss insurance
The crop insurance of Rs 46.9 crore has been given by the insurance company to the state cooperative bank on Monday in presence of the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik . During the Khariff 2009, about 10 lakh farmers have insured crop .Out of them one lakh farmers will get the crop insurance.
Farmers of 32 blocks of 11 districts will be benefitted. This scheme has started from the year 1999-2000 and about one crore farmers have been included in the scheme. More than 17 lakh farmers have received insurance of Rs 536 crore.
