Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurates Alma Fiesta cultural fest of IIT Bhubaneswar. ‘Alma Fiesta’ is the first cultural fest of IIT Bhubaneswar. The institute terms it as a socio-cultural fest and also claims it to be a first of its kind in Orissa. There are a number of cultural events lined up. Natya Chetana the drama group has partnered with IIT for a few social cause drama shows. Smt.Nandini Satpathy Memorial Trust (SNSMT) and Indian Institute of Technology ,Bhubaneswar (IIT Bbs) have partnered for a unique competition ‘ Perspective: The Social Case Study Competition’.

The theme earmarked for this year is ‘Youth, Truth & Politics’. The articles/idea statement/ vision/ presentation can only be submitted online. Six shortlisted finalists will present their concept in front of an audience and a panel of distinguished judges on March 27, 2022 at 11 AM in the lecture hall of IIT Bhubaneswar.

This year’s winner of the competition will be decorated with the title of ‘SNSMT-IIT Bbs Social Change Maker of 2010’. “This competition and award is a part of SNSMT’s effort to initiate a process wherein young minds who engaged in the pursuit of academic excellence, need to dwell on the concerns of the society as a part of their perspective” said Sameep a student of IIT Bbs and a coordinator of Alma Fiesta.
