CM Naveen Patnaik reviews status of BRGF implemented in 19 districts |

The Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has reviewed the status of BRGF implemented in 19 districts of the state on Friday in the Orissa Secretariat.
The BRGF aims at Capacity Building of Elected representatives at Rural and Urban level , filling critical gap in Urban and Rural areas and comprehensive plan of districts with inter sectoral convergence of each plan of all approved by District Planning Committee Chaired by designated Ministers of Cabinet.
The Plan process for 2011-12 already started in advance with the help of Technical Support Institutions (TSIs). The draft plans from Gram Sabha to Zilla Parishad have already been prepared in all districts. Sundargarh have submitted the plan for 2011-12 . Remaining districts are advised to submit the plans by October end.
Out of Rs 885.79 crore available , Rs712.36 crore of expenditure has been made which is 80% . Withheld fund of of Rs 642.56 crore was taken serious note.
Panchayati Raj Department was advised to move Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Govt. of India to release balance amount including 1st instilment of Boudh for 2010-11. Since 50% expenditure is made by GPs, all District Collectore are impressed upon to do the needful.
It was appreciated that out of 100864 elected representatives of PRIs, 74675 ERs have been given atleast one module of the 3-Day duration training by SIRD in association with pro-poor and pro-PRI NGOs. Corporators like Centum (Airtel Bharati Group) is organizing training programme of PRIs in association with Govt of Orissa.
Among others Minister of Panchayati Raj , Information and Public Relation Prafulla Samal , Chief Secretary Bijaya Kumar Patnaik, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Aditya Prasad Padhi, Principal Secretary of Panchayati Raj S.N.Tripathy, Special Secretary of Planning and Coordination R.B.Singh and senior Officers were present. |
