School for two year 1949 to 1950 consequentl6y resigned to devote fulltime for public work and joined Indian National Congress 1951; Elected President District Congress Committee 1967 and continued as such till 1971; Convenor District Congress Committee (Sundargarh District and continuing as such; Member Block Advisory Committee Sudargarh Block Sarpanch Majhapara Grama Panchayat for three consecutive terms from 1954 to 1962 having returned uncontested in each term; Nominated by the State Government to participate in the First Inter-State Regional Conference of community Development Seminar held at Darjeeling 195; Elected Chairman Sundargarh Panchayat Samiti 1961 and continued till 1967; Life Member Bharat Krushak Samaj 1955 and subsequently elected member to the All-India Farmers Council` Elected President Graingola Cooperative Society for two terms and member of the Board of Directors of Sundargarh Central Co-operative Bank Ltd. for two terms 1964-66; Member Sundargarh Regional Co-operative Marketing Society Ltd. for two terms; During the tenure of Chairmanship of Sudargarh Panchayat Samiti 1964 went on study tour to Maharastra State to see the working of the Co-operative institutions.
