After education took up teachership and was propagating against the Ruler of Talcher and was kept under strict vigilance. Escaped from vigilance and formed Prajamandal to oppose the atrocities of Ruler. Arrested and imprisoned 1939 by Ruler. Scaled over the Jail walls 1942 to join the `Quit India` call by Gandhiji. Ruler declared a prize of 10000 rupees to get arrested Shri Pradhan dead or alive. Formed Parallel Government with the help of people. Later being apprehended left Orissa to meet Netaji. Joined Suicide Squad of Netaji and rendered valuable service at the risk of life. After Independence became Executive Councillor 1948-49 for the administration of Orissa States and again 1950-52.
